Family Weekend (3)

Wir wurden bestaetigt, dass in England doch einiges anders laeuft: es gibt Essig auf die Pommes, Linksverkehr, die Polizistinnen tragen Roecke (sitzen aber immerhin nicht im Damensattel) und: man kommt einfach doch nicht um das Londonwetter drum herum - aber sonst waere die Erfahrung ja auch nicht komplett gewesen!!! :-) Grund genug, sich bei heissem Kaffee und einem tollen Blick ueber den Fluss wieder trocknen zu lassen, bevor es abends wieder heimwaerts ging! Everything is different in England, compared to the continent: they eat their fries with vinegar, drive on the wrong side of the road :-), the police women wear skirts (at least they didn't have to ride a women's saddle) and of course: you just can't avoid the London weather!!!! So make the best of it, and enjoy hot coffee with a nice view while getting dry again!!!

Wir hatten sehr viel Glueck mit dem Wetter, aber das ist halt so, wenn Engel reisen :-) Zusammen haben wir wirklich fast ganz London zu Fuss durchquert und gesehen, zumindest von aussen :-) Schoen, dass Ihr da wart!!!! Und danke fuer die (mitgebrachte) Verpflegung :-) We were so lucky with the weather, but that is how it is supposed to be, when "angels travel"...:-) Together we explored most of London by foot, and have seen almost every important sight... at least from the outside :-)

Family Weekend (1)

An diesem Wochenende waren meine lieben Eltern zu Besuch - die ersten Gaeste!!!! Ganz spontan vor 2 Wochen gebucht!!! Das nenn' ich mal flexibel! Wir haben ein herrliches Wochenende verbracht, mit Hardcore-Sightseeing, Fish & Chips, Guiness Extra-Cold und leckerem indischem Essen... wir haben es uns richtig gut gehen lassen! This weekend my parents visited, they only booked the flight 2 weeks in advance - very spontaneous, indeed!!! We spent a lovely weekend with "hardcore-sightseeing", fish & chips, Guiness extra-cold and yummie indian food... and enjoyed it so much!

Erstes Wochenende - First Weekend

Camden Market ist immer wieder ein Erlebnis - die Menschen, das Angebot, das Essen... das ist bestimmt ein Platz, an dem ich mich noch oefter rumtreiben werde, und bestimmt auch noch viel Geld ausgeben werde :-) Camden Market is a blast - the people, the stuff one can find, the food... this for sure is a place, that I will visit more often, and for sure spend a lot of money there :-)

...und weil die Wetterfee mir solch ein schoenes erstes Wochenende bereitet hat, konnten wir auch noch den Hydepark bei Sonnenuntergang besuchen (und uns an den doch sehr "individuellen" Sprechern im "Speakers Corner" erfreuen :-))

...and because I was so lucky with the weather on my first weekend, we were able to enjoy Hyde Park by sunset (and also the very "individual" speakers on "Speakers Corner" :-))

Party People

Pubs und Clubs gibt es hier zuhauf - also mussten wir mal anfangen, welche kennenzulernen:-) In verschiedenen Kombinationen aber immer lustig war es, also hier ein paar Eindrücke :-)
There are a hell lot of pubs and clubs in this city, so we got started to get to know them all :-) So many different people came together, and it's been soo much fun...

Yessss!!!!!!!!

Mit 16 Kilo Uebergepaeck (eine Metrokatze braucht die Auswahl :-) bin ich gluecklich hier in London angekommen, meine liebe Mitbewohnerin Judith hat mich an der U-Bahn abgeholt, alles hat super geklappt - und endlich schnuppere ich wieder Grossstadtluft - irgendwann ist Landluft einfach zu gesund! :-) Das Wohnheim, das Ihr sehen koennt ist super zentral gelegen, Camden High Street (auch zu sehen)(sehr hippes Viertel :-)), Oxford Circus oder auch Picadilly in vernuenftiger Laufweite - man kann es fast nicht besser treffen - und ich bin so gluecklich!!! Neue Leute treffen ist hier Tagesordnung (und ich bin doch so schlecht im Namen merken) und macht unheimlich viel Spass, und es gibt soviel zu erkunden... Ihr muesst alle kommen und es selbst erleben - Ihr seid herzlich eingeladen, ich hoffe, ich muss das nicht immer wieder erwaehnen!!!! With 16 kilos overweight (luggage, not me :-), but girls always need the choice) I arrived safely in London, where my dear roommate Judith (picture) picked me up at the metro station - I'm glad I can breathe the air of a big city again, the air at the North Sea was too healthy :-)! The dorm, the house which you can see on picture is situated perfectly central and in reasonable walking distance to Camden High Street (what a cool neighbourhood!), Oxford and Picadilly Circus - I'm so happy!!! People is very nice and interesting here (and shamefully I'm so bad in keeping names in mind ), and it's great fun to explore everything new! But you must all come and experience it yourself, I hope I do not have to always mention that everyone is very warmly welcome!!!
