Halloween...huuui boooooh ;-) the pirates are coming!

Jaja, und schon wieder ist es so spät im Jahr, dass es Halloweenzeit ist – unglaublich!!! Letzten Freitag gab es ne super Party in einem super Club: Ruby Skye! Ist wohl DER Tanzschuppen in SF, und ich war vorher noch nie da!!! Also habe ich ein wenig Überzeugungsarbeit geleistet, und es war ein voller Erfolg – genial dekoriert (angeblich haben die 20.000 Dollar für die Halloweendeko ausgegeben, für 5 Tage Party), super Musik (sehr gut tanzbarer House), super Kostüme, und überhaupt: ich war froh, mal endlich mal wieder „normale“ Party zu haben, d.h. kein RnB oder das ganze Ge-Rappe ;-) War lustig! Incredible, it is already again late in the year, and we are having Halloween!!! Last Friday there was a great party in a great club called Ruby Skye – apparently THE dance club in SF – and I have never been there before! So I convinced a few people to join, and it was a full success – the decoration was amazing (heard they spend 20 Grant on it! For 5 days of party), the music good (danceable House and not that usual American RnB and Rap stuff, repeating itself endlessly) and great costumes: I was just happy having a “normal” good party again since long time!!! It was fun!

Already christmas???

Letztes We bin ich mit Amra (neue Kollegin aus Singapur) shoppen gegangen – sie hat ja nur dünne, luftige und sommerliche Klamotten aus Singapur gebracht – kein Wunder wenn man aus diesem Land kommt ;-) Sie brauchte vor allem Pullis, Jeans, Jacke und geschlossene Schuhe!!! ;-) Und um uns dafür zu stärken, waren wir in der Cheesecake Factory in Macy’s am Union Square in SF, 8er Stock, Terassenplatz in der Sonne, direkt an der Brüstung!!! (Ich erwähne jetzt aber nicht dass wir fast ne Stunde Wartezeit für diesen Platz hatten, dann klingt es nämlich cooler ;-) ) Da gab’s dann lecker Brunch mit Vogelbeobachtung, und zum Abschluss noch ein Foto im T-Shirt und dem ersten geschmückten Weihnachtsbaum der Saison ;-))) Last we I have been shopping with Amra, my new co-worker from Singapore – she only brought very summery and airy clothing ;-) But no wonder, coming from that warm country!!! And to get some energy for the day, we went to the Cheesecake Factory in Macy’s on Union Square, 8th floor, and got a great table outside on the balcony, in the sun, with the most beautiful view!!! (I just won´t mention that we had to wait almost an hour for it, that way it sounds cooler!!! ;-) ) So we had a good brunch with some bird observation, and as the final icing on this breakfast I got a picture of myself in T-Shirt and the first decorated Christmas-tree of this season ;-)))

An diesem We had der Tiger uns mal wieder mit einem Besuch hier bei uns beehrt ;-) Er bleibt eine Woche, und das erste We har schon so grandios, dass ich gar nicht weiss wie das getoppt werden soll… ich meine, wie soll man schon Fliegen toppen??? Wir waren am Sonntag in einem Indoor-Fallsschirmsprung-Simulator, das ist ein aufrechter Windtunnel der durch Jetdüsen erzeugt wird und auf diesem Windstrahl kann man dann schweben (das Foto von dem schwebenden Menschen in Orange sind nicht wir, wir durften keine Kamera mit rein in die Windzelle nehmen)! Fühlt sich an wie freier Fall oder eben Schwimmen (hoffentlich kommt niemand auf die Idee das vom Empire State Building zu tun). Und so fühle ich mich heute auch: als ob ich schwimmen war, und seit Ewigkeiten mal wieder alle Muskelgruppen beansprucht habe – mein Po eingeschlossen, ich glaube ich hab ihn vor Aufregung zu doll und zu lang zusammengekniffen ;-) Und danach hab ich erstmal eine Stunde gebraucht, um vom Adrenalin runterzukommen ;-) Was noch ansonsten passiert ist? Frisbee im Golden Gate Park wegen dem wunderschönen Wetter, und ein nettes selbstgekochtes Dinner mit Freunden… Ach ja, das Mädel mit den dunklen langen Haaren ist meine neue Kollegin aus Singapur!This weekend Jonas gave us the honour of visiting us here in the Bay Area! He will stay one week, so next weekend promises to become exciting as well – but hey, how can you top flying??? Check this out: we have been in an indoor sky-diving simulator, where jets are blowing a vertical wind-stream on which you can float!!! That was so cool! And today I am all sore, as I have used muscles that I have not even know of, and my butt hurts from all the pinching together ;-))) (That person in the orange suit is not one of us, we were not able to take any camera with us once inside the tunnel)What else happened? Some cooking and nice dinner with friends Saturday night, some Frisbee in Golden Gate Park due to beautiful weather… oh and yes, the girl with the long black hair is my new colleague from Singapore!!!

Dinner at Vanessa and Dan's

Nach dem Lovefest war ich echt am Ende, trinken, Sonne und stundenlanges Gehen, Stehen und Tanzen haben ihren Tribut gefordert. Die Beine taten weh, und ich brauchte unbedingt eine Stärkung... aber da konnte ich mich auf Vanessa und Dan verlassen, die am Abend zum Dinner zu sich nach Hause geladen hatten. Lecker Steak und Kartoffelgratin und Spargel haben mich dann wieder auf die Beine gestellt, für eine Runde WII. Ich bin ja sonst kein Computerspielfreak oder so, aber das macht echt Spass und hält niemandem auf dem Sofa... ganz zu Schweigen von den vielen "echten Treffern" die da gegenseitig verteilt werden, und den Dingen die ringsum den Fernseher langsam zu Bruch gehen ;-))) After the lovefest I was really finished and my legs hurt after all the drinking, walking, standing and dancing - I really needed some refreshment/strengthening... but for this I could rely very much on Vanessa and Dan, who had invited us over for a great steak dinner! That really helped, and Vanessa's cooking was awsome!!! And it just helped so much in getting the impulse to play the WII again - it is so much fun and I enjoy it a lot, although all of you know that I am really not much of a computer game freak! Nobody's stays put on the sofa, usually all end up standing and jumping around and not to mention the poor inventory that slowly but steadily is being decreased by several smaller accidents ;-)

Lovefest/parade in SF

Letztes We war mal wieder was los in SF – aber diesmal haben sie die Deutschen nachgemacht: Lovefest/Loveparade! Natürlich nicht ganz so grandios wie in Berlin (wobei ich das auch nicht wirklich beurteilen kann, da ich sie nie live gesehen habe) aber schon ganz gut!!! Ustun (unser Trainee aus der Türkei) und ich wussten nicht genau worauf wir uns einlassen, aber das Wetter war gut, die Stimmung auch, also haben wir uns auf den Weg gemacht! Und es war ziemlich gut, muss ich sagen, wir haben tatsächlich viel getanzt, ne Menge Hippies und nackte Schwule bestaunt und vor allem: Spass gehabt ;-) Last weekend finally something happened again in good old SF – but this time the Americans imitated the Germans: with the lovefest/loveparade, actually invented in Berlin! It was not of the same size, but then I have never seen it myself in Berlin, so I cannot say much about the quality as well… Ustun, our trainee from Turkey and I had no clue what will wait for us, but as the weather and the mood was great, we decided to give it a go! And we had a lot of fun, dancing quite a bit in the afternoon sun, watching people and naked gays and basically having a blast ;-)
